Filter Pond

What You Need To Learn About A Koi Filter

Hey, there. It may interest you to know that it is extremely important when raising Koi that they get the correct Koi filter system in their pond. This is because Koi can be more sensitive to the water than most other fish you might come across. So it is important that they get good clean water and that you get a good filter for your Koi.

In the wild Koi don’t need a filter because the ponds are usually big enough that the waste just filters out in to large space, but pet Koi need their pond filtering because of the smaller space.

When it comes to Koi pond filters there a really two kinds that you can choose from. The best in my opinion is the machine that sucks up all of the waste and cleans out all the bad particles, it will then hold it in a box for you until you clean it out.

After the machine Koi filter the next way you can filter your pond is to buy pond cleaner this will keep the ph balance of your pond normal and at the same time filter your Koi pond by removing all of the particles and bacteria.

When you are buying a filter it is important to think about the size of your pond, obviously bigger ponds will require a bigger filter but on the same hand if you have a very big pond then you won’t need a filter but on the other end of the scale most people will just need an average size filter.

Also when it comes to getting a Koi filter a great way of filtering the pond is to install a fountain, waterfall or something similar. This is because it gives the fish a constant stream of oxygen and will help to filter out the pond meaning you will be able to get a smaller Koi filter. In some cases if you have a larger pond you can cut out getting a filter and add in a water feature.

In conclusion to this article on your Koi filter just remember to get the right sized filter, think about using pond cleaner and think about getting a water fountain or something and before you know it you will have a great filtered pond where your Koi are just as happy as you are to have them.
